Finding a date via cell phone sounds interesting. The idea of GPS locating seems interesting, yet also kind of creepy.
[2] Area woman says ‘Net date cost her $2,500
I don’t understand this story. I don’t care how lonely you are, why would you cash travelers checks sent to you by someone, cash them and send the money to them so they could by a ticket to come see you from a far away land? They are travelers checks, they are supposed to be good for traveling. Wouldn’t any bank just about anywhere cash them for you? This ladies bank cashed them just fine. You definitely need to be careful out there in the Internet dating pool but this is just unbelievably silly.
This is a press release but the idea of groups of friends meeting other groups of friends is quite an interesting idea in the Internet dating world.

One of the best opening paragraphs for an article I have read in a long time.
[5] Billboard bachelor available
Another guy puts up a billboard to get traffic to his site trying to find a wife. This approach is a little more expensive then the monthly costs of say Yahoo! Personals for the average Internet dater.
