by @ 5:05 am. Filed under Niche Dating, Site of the Week

What better way to meet someone who can’t hear you than by using email and other Internet technologies to communicate online. DeafPeopleMeet offers an online community for finding dates or friends. You can post photos, use the message boards, the video chat to see who you are typing to and more.

They say:

We offer a site that excels for a number of reasons. We’ve developed an extensive list of questions… over 100 questions on topics ranging from leisure activities to politics to the personal domain. You can answer as many or as few of the questions as you like, and include a photograph only if you choose. Everything is confidential and done in good taste, with style. The choice is yours.

You can create a profile for free, which allows you to search profiles, send flirts and receive and reply to messages. To contact someone yourself you need to signup as a Platinum member, which will also allow you to see who has viewed your profile and use the message boards.

If you are looking to connect with other deaf people then DeafPeopleMeet might just be the place to meet that special someone. Click on over and give it a shot, you never know.

by @ 8:18 pm. Filed under In the News, Week In Review

The eWooing Week In Review, some articles about online dating or related stories that I found interesting in the past week. Some news and views you can use to help you in your search for that special someone. Many were read only four made this list. Enjoy!

Let’s Get Physical – Online

An article about chemistry and the new online dating site Chemistry.com which is now in beta and brought to you by Match.com. It sounds a lot like eHarmony with the addition of a internal scheduling system for meeting a match for the first time. You answer a bunch of questions and you are only matched with those the system finds you may have chemistry with. It is presently only available to people in Seattle, San Diego, Denver and Washington D.C. During the testing phase you can get a 90 day free membership if you are in one of the above cities.

The bride wore black: Gothic love, forged online, crosses ocean

Maybe we need to increase the area we are looking for someone in. Here is a story of love found between two continents.

Better Loving Through Chemistry?

Another article about Chemistry.com. This article groups it with the other dating sites like eHarmony and PerfectMatch but goes a little more indepth about how the matching is done.

Single Asian Female Seeking True Love in the Sea of Singles

Fishing shouldn’t be this hard. You would think that with all the new online dating fishing poles and bait we wouldn’t have to throw so many back.

Niche Dating Site of the Week: ChristianCafe.com

by @ 3:11 am. Filed under Niche Dating, Site of the Week

ChristianCafe is a site that is designed to help single Christians to find others of a similar faith in a virtual Cafe setting. You can choose your level of comfort and meet people looking for pen pals or long-term relationships or somewhere in between.

What they say about their service:

ChristianCafe.com is a comfortable relaxing online Cafe where Christian singles connect with each other. Whether you’re looking for a companion, a date, or a soul mate, ChristianCafe.com is the place for you! Warm, romantic, inviting…

You can post a profile for free and get 10 days of access. When your free time is up you can signup for further use for as little as two weeks or as long as a year. The longer the time frame the cheaper the monthly charge. You can even receive 5 free days for each friend you refer.

When you signup you get your own private email box for use in sending and receiving emails with potential partners. You can chat individually or in a group session with other singles. You can view and search for as many profiles as you like as long as your membership is active.

If this sounds like the kind of online meeting place for you or you know someone looking to meet that special someone with a Christian background then ChristianCafe might just be the online dating site for you or them.

Online Dating Articles Worth a Read

by @ 7:17 pm. Filed under In the News, Week In Review

The eWooing Week In Review, these are five articles about online dating or related stories that I found interesting in the past week. Some news and views you can use to help you in your search for that special someone. Enjoy!

Airline idea takes online dating to new heights

Travel much? How about this for an idea for meeting that special somebody or at least having someone interesting to talk to for the flight.

Looking for love in all the wrong places

Did you know that eHarmony rejects more than 15% of the people who fill out the personality profile. I new some were not accepted but I had no idea it was that high. Try filling it out yourself and see if you make the cut.

Bachelor pad: The culture of courtship changes by the minute

My question after reading this was that if Jon really loved and wanted to marry and have a family with this woman he was crying over then why hasn’t he and what does all the technology and other things mentioned have to do with him not doing so?

Looking for love after 40

A look at dating in the F-Zone, that is dating in your forties and fifties. You might consider reading The Boomer’s Guide to Online Dating for a little help in navigating the F-Zone for dating online.

They’re going the distance

The idea of meeting someone and marrying them and then living seperately sounds odd to me but it seems to have worked for these couples.
